Homes sales rebound 10,7%

The sale of housing increased in July by 10.7%, reflecting a recovery in monthly sales, as recorded by the latest report of the Statistical Information Center of Notaries. 39,105 transactions were made. By type of housing, the sale of flats showed an increase of 8.3%. This increase in transactions of flats is only due to the sales of second-hand (16.5%), as the new building retracts 21.7% . Instead, sales of single-family homes showed strong growth of 20.3%.

The average price per square meter of housing sold was 1,247 euros, representing an annual fall of 2.4% and an accumulated 33.9% since the beginning of the crisis in 2007, the General Council of Notaries, remembers that the data related to transactions in the period indicated (July).

In that month the sale of other real estate operations stood at 8,969 (-12.0%), of which 37.1% were land or solar. The average price per square meter of these transactions reached 210 euros (-30.2%). Thus, industry figures continue to indicate a stabilization of the Spanish real estate market, according to this group.

Mortgages for the purchase of a home increased by 27.1% year on year to 17,450 new loans. Their average amount was reduced by 1.5% in annual terms to 122,331 euros. The percentage of homes financed by purchasing a mortgage stood at 44.6%. Additionally, this type of leveraged buyouts, the loan amount assumed in average 77.2%.
